    Logan Academic Games Team

    PRACTICE STARTS ON SEPTEMBER 17 – OPEN TO 3RD, 4TH, & 5TH GRADERS

    WHAT IS ACADEMIC GAMES?

Academic Games is a series of games designed to develop, challenge, and test a student's knowledge in several different subject areas beyond what is taught in school. Students compete in games that cover Math, English, Social Studies, & Logic.  The primary purpose of Academic Games is to make learning fun for students.  All too often it seems, students turn off Math, English, or Social Studies because the students are bored or not challenged by the material. Academic Games (AG) helps to alleviate that problem by challenging students to pursue their own education in these subjects in order to succeed in competition.

Team members are encouraged to attend a minimum of one practice a week, but are welcome to attend as often as they wish. All students compete against students from other schools sometimes on Fridays and other schools from and throughout the state about once a month on Saturdays. A full schedule of this year’s monthly Saturday tournaments can be found on our Team communication website.

The team is coached by volunteers and supported through the efforts of many parents who act as co-coaches, chaperones, and fundraisers. Tierra Jackson is the Head Coach for Logan's Academic Games Team. We would like to encourage parents to attend any and all practices to learn the games.

Our team meets for practice in Ms. Jackson’s classroom (Room 253) on

TUE 4-5:30 PM AND THUR 6:30-8 PM. ENTER LOGAN THROUGH DOOR 3.

    Logan Spirit Wear Drive

Do you have Logan clothing that your children have outgrown?  Fifth graders, are you moving on to middle school next year?  Pay it forward and donate any Logan clothing items to the PTSO spirit wear drive.

This could include Logan Spirit Wear, Fun Run T-shirts, Science Olympiad shirts, or any other Logan specific gear.  PTSO will use your donations to support the opportunity to select pre-used spiritwear in the fall at our back to school events.  Look for donation boxes at the front door from now until the end of the school year!
