Dear Applicants,

This email provides you with information that will help you confirm whether your student will be entered into the Community High School lottery tomorrow, February 20, 2019. Please review the list of student numbers below to find your temporary student ID number that was assigned to you when your application was accepted as complete. If you find your number, then you are confirmed for entry in the lottery. If you do not find your number, please call the Dean’s office at Community High School by 4:00 PM today, Tuesday, February 19th.

Additionally, please read this section carefully so that you can properly interpret the results of the lottery that will be posted tomorrow on our website at 7:30 PM. As stated on our Community High School Application and Enrollment Process, the first 132 lottery numbers will be offered seats at CHS for the 9^th grade class that will graduate in 2023.  This means that lottery number “133” automatically becomes number “1” on the waitlist for the class of 2023. I also want to remind applicants that in order for a student to accept their lottery seat and enroll at Community High School, we require proof of current or future residency within the Ann Arbor Public School district; the only non-district students who can accept a lottery seat at Community High are those that are currently enrolled in the Ann Arbor Public Schools through the Schools of Choice option. I also want to share a few other reminders from item #5 in our Enrollment Process.

 Enrollment priorities are in the following order:

1. Correct number of students in grade.
2. Enrollment will be offered for up to three foreign exchange students residing with a full-time CHS student, pending final approval of the Dean.  These foreign exchange students are accepted above the target enrollment for that grade and may not have previously earned a high school diploma in their home country.
3. Children of CHS faculty members are accepted above the target enrollment for each grade level.
4. No more than 2 children of AAPS employees (not at CHS) are accepted above the target enrollment for each grade level, in wait list order from the random selection.
5. CHS does not offer sibling or legacy enrollment.

This passage means that that if there are foreign exchange students or children of CHS faculty members in the class of 2023, that the 9^th grade class will be bigger than the 132 spots dedicated in the lottery. Additionally, we always accept the next 2 children of AAPS employees (not at CHS) from the waitlist; they will also be above the target enrollment of 132.
