The health and safety of our students, families, and staff continues as the highest priority in the Ann Arbor Public Schools.  

We have received contact from the City of Ann Arbor Fire Department sharing information and significant concerns with ongoing fire code violations related to the parking of RVs in the Pioneer High School lot.  Most importantly, these concerns include the discovery of elevated levels of carbon monoxide around several trailers and other health and safety concerns, as noted in Chief Kennedy’s communication.

As a result, the Ann Arbor Public Schools has determined that hosting RV parking for UM football games is no longer feasible. We came to this decision after months of research and working closely with the Ann Arbor Fire Department and City of Ann Arbor officials. The required number of generators, fuel, safety fencing, electrical RV wire covers, and staffing for onsite enforcement of City of Ann Arbor ordinances to ensure the safety of those who choose to park and visit our lot on game days, whether overnight or for the day, prohibits the district from hosting RV parking.  The City will be an enforcing agency this fall regarding their ordinances and codes.

We regret we are unable to accommodate RV parking for the coming football season.  As we stated earlier, safety of all involved is paramount. We will post links to other sites that may provide RV parking as we become aware of them, and apologize for any inconvenience.
