Welcome to Project Lead The Way at King! My name is Steven Tomsik (he/him). This is my second year teaching our science and engineering program, and my 23rd year of teaching. I grew up in Ann Arbor and attended Logan, Clague and Huron (go Rats). Prior to working at King, I was an elementary school science teacher at PS 107 in Brooklyn, NY, and I'm so grateful to be able to continue this kind of work here in the town where I grew up. I love guiding students through the process of constructing explanations and finding solutions to real-life problems. We use our hands a lot in PLTW, guided by our big, beautiful brains, and we understand that mistakes are valuable steps that get us closer to finding answers. In my free time, I hang out with my wife, Anna, and our son Ralphie. You can find us hiking, surfing, digging for cool rocks, building stuff and improving our homemade tortilla game. I can't wait to see what your kids create this year!
