Superintendent's Update - A2 Student Link & A2 Classroom Connect
-
Synopsis of Video
- Both A2 Student Link and Classroom Connect are tied to your child's current school, with teachers and students from the school.
- The primary difference is if parents plan on having students return to in-person learning then choose A2 Classroom Connect, but if plan to stay home and continue virtual learning than A2 Student Link is the better option.
- Classroom Connect does allow families to remain virtual in the same classroom if they don't feel it is safe to return when AAPS allows students in the building
- A2 Student Link will be part of a fully virtual classroom and won't have the distraction of wondering if students are returning to the classroom this semester.
- Classroom Connect will have the possibility of returning this fall when it is safe, starting with the youngest elementary-aged students.
- At the secondary level (middle and high school) with wider course offerings, the decision between A2 Student Link and A2 Classroom Connect is less of a concern for a number of reasons.
- First students won't be returning to face to face learning until later in the year since phasing in of students begins with the youngest.
- Secondly, at the secondary level, there will be some blending of both programs for classes such as band, higher-level language classes, etc.
- Finally, the decision is more critical at the elementary level because secondary students make natural changes to their schedule at the semester, while changing from Student Link to Classroom Connect or vice versa at the elementary level would likely require changing a classroom which is not common at that level.
- A reminder that the deadline to complete the program enrollment form is now August 14th.
- If a parent/guardian wants to make a change to what they have submitted, they can send an email to east@k12insight.com, put "AAPS" in the subject line, and ask for their survey to be reopened.
- As always additional changes in programs and schedule will be worked on in a case by case basis in late August and early September.
