    Apple Crunch Day

Today is Apple Crunch Day!  Each October, as the trees put on their brilliant hues of orange and scarlet, and the squirrels in the nearby groves gather acorns and hickory nuts for the approaching winter, local farmers bring heaping baskets of fresh, crisp apples to Skyline to share freely with students and staff alike, while our cooks in the kitchen busily stir up apple cinnamon smoothies and parfaits.  So, amble through The Commons today and treat yourself to a delicious apple from a nearby orchard, the bounty of this fading year; and celebrate the season, the humble apple, and the men and women who toil to grow and harvest this sweet, autumn treat.
