About
Cosmetology is a 2 year program designed to prepare students to sit for the Cosmetology State Board Examination for the state of Michigan. First year students attend 3.25 hours per day, and 7 hours per day, 4 days per week, for 6 weeks during the summer.
How To Join The Program
The Cosmetology program is open to all high school students in the Ann Arbor Public Schools. Classes are offered at the Huron Valley Beauty Academy building. All students must apply to the program by filling out this Google Form. The form contains all details, including due dates.
Additionally, the program requires 2 recommendation forms from current or former teachers or school counselors. Potential students must also read through the Student Handbook [PDF download]
Certifications, Licenses & AssessmentsStudents who successfully complete both years of the Cosmetology program will have completed 1500 hours of instruction.
